A Licensed Veterinary Technician must have an AS in Veterinary Technology or a BS in Animal Science and pass a state licensing exam. At Veazie Veterinary Clinic our Licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants do a variety of important tasks that are necessary for the continued success of our patients health.

• Dental cleaning prophylaxis is important for your pet's health. Problems with teeth can lead to cardiac disease and other infections. Our dental x-ray machine allows us to look inside your pets teeth-this is where cavities start in cats. Jessie is one our LVTs that performs dentals.
• Weight is very important to the healthy lives of our pets. Bobbie is our pet weight management program coordinator, recycling leader, rehabilitation team member and she is usually found in the lab.
• Our blood bank program is important to health of our patients. Autumn is the coordinator for our blood donor program.
• Rehab post surgically for orthopedic patients is very helpful in their full and quick recovery. Stacey, a member of the rehab team, is also an Exam Room Technician.
• Anesthesia monitoring and prepping for surgery with lab work are important pieces to safe care of patients. Darrell, our Veterinary Assistant, and the LVT do this everyday.
• Radiology is one of the most common tools for any veterinary clinic. It is used to locate breaks in bones, blockages in the gastrointestinal tract and count puppies in the womb. Marisa is one of several LVT who tackle radiographs everyday.
• Our In House labatory is fully equipped to run many blood tests, urinalysis and cytologies. Mary is one of the technicians who runs our lab. Nika, a Veterinary Assistant, also helps out in the lab.

The Technicians at Veazie Veterinary Clinic have animals including guinea pigs, rats, dogs, and cats. Several are members of the North American Veterinary Technician Association. Many are busy with their families, but some also volunteer for other organizations. You may find them riding their Harley, swimming, hiking, kayaking, camping, taking photographs, working on crafts or gardening.
