"Rodney" was a 4 year old domestic shorthair cat. He came in with a shattered tibia and fibia. Dr. Cloutier laced a special type of pin in his tibia called an interlocking nail. This technique involves placing threaded screws through holes in the nail to "lock" it in place. He also placed a wire around the bone to hold a large fragment in place. The pin will stay in Rodney for the rest of his life. He will, of course, have to avoid metal detectors. |
